ADHD and AuDHD coaching and mentoring

No more fitting in. It's time to be you.

Neuro-affirmative coaching for adults, DSA mentoring for university students, and life coaching for young people from 14. A non-judgemental space to understand yourself, and to accept the wonderful person you already are.

No more pressure to be better Because you're already enough

Even with a diagnosis, many of us feel we should be different, or better. That pressure lives in an inner voice we barely notice, because it has become normal: self-criticism, people pleasing, self-sabotage and low self-belief, all wrapped up in perfectionism. Coaching gives you the space to notice those patterns, get curious about them, and let real self-acceptance land.

No judgement Because I've been there too

I spent over 20 years as a teacher and SENCo supporting children and families, without realising I was ADHD and autistic myself. Diagnosed at 49 and 52, I've built a new way of being in the world on self-acceptance and self-compassion. It's not about me having the answers. It's about the insight that comes when you have space to reflect.

ADHD and AuDHD coaching From self-criticism to self-awareness

Every coaching relationship starts with a personalised life audit. It's holistic, and shaped by the concerns, interests and circumstances that brought you here.

Together we build self-awareness, make space to reflect, reconnect with what matters, and create next steps towards your bigger goals and dreams. Challenges are tackled, wins are celebrated, and where it helps I share the latest ADHD, autism and AuDHD research and tools from positive psychology.

Throughout, that familiar self-critical voice becomes a prompt for curiosity, not a verdict.

DSA-funded mentoring and study skills Support for the student, not just the subject

Marie smiling at her desk with a laptop, the AuDHD Forward sign on the wall behind her

I'm registered with the Department for Education to provide DSA-funded Non-Medical Help as a Specialist Mentor (SM-ASC) and in one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support (SM-ASC and SM-SpLD), for students with autism and ADHD.

I bring formal training, over 20 years as an SEN, dyslexia and English teacher and SENCo, and my own lived experience. At university I picked subjects because I thought I "should", printed every page I referenced so I could annotate it, and literally cut and pasted my essays. Over time I found study skills that suited the way I process.

For some students the focus is organisation, planning and accountability. For others it goes deeper: understanding their neurodivergent profile, self-advocacy and a kinder way of reflecting on thoughts and feelings. I work across all ages, stages and faculties.

I know regular check-ins can feel daunting. Rejection sensitive dysphoria, low self-esteem, time and stress management can all get in the way, so missed sessions are treated as information to work with, never a reason for shame.

Specialist mentoring£50 per hour
Study skills and strategy£55 per hour

Find me on the SLC database of NMH suppliers. Weekly or ad hoc bookings, weekdays 8.30am to 8.30pm, and short-notice support when an emergency arises and I'm free.

03 · Young people, 14 and over

Youth life coaching A space to be heard, without judgement

I'm an accredited Youth Life Coach specialising in emotional resilience, academic resilience, health and wellness, and ADHD.

We start with a life inventory, a structured self-rating that helps a young person reflect and share what feels most pressing right now. Being heard and understood by someone who isn't a parent can create a real step forward on its own.

For coursework, organisation or friendship challenges, around six sessions over three months is usually enough to embed new ways of thinking and doing.

Sessions are confidential and young-person led. There's no feedback to parents unless the young person asks for it, though they're always free to share. That freedom builds accountability, self-advocacy and the feeling of being truly seen.

Introducing Marie

Hi, I'm Marie

I'm 54, and a former teacher drawn to special educational needs. My late diagnoses, ADHD at 49 and autism at 52, laid the foundation for a new way of being in the world, built on growing self-acceptance and self-compassion. I created AuDHD Forward to support others on that journey.

Many neurodivergent people deep dive and learn everything on their own, from books, social media and online communities. But there's something unique about a space that invites self-reflection, and I believe that's where the strongest insight is found. A special interest of mine is midlife women with late-diagnosed ADHD and autism meeting perimenopause.
